Kennywood Day

Yesterday, I went to Kennywood Park for probably the first time in 8 years or so. It was Jewish Community Day; and the major draw was that they would have kosher "amusement park food' available. Overall though, I was a bit disappointed. True I came late (around 4 pm), but I really expected to see more Jews in the park. It was nothing like Italian-American Day or the now defunct African-American Day. Their was no "ethnic flavor" to the park that day; and we didn't have any shirts to identify us (who knows...maybe there were a lot of non-Orthodox Jews out there and I just could not tell).

While waiting in line for the Exterminator, I caught sight of the folks in the picture. Seriously now? You mean you really have nothing better to do than get a t-shirt made and come to Kennywood to try to make a statement to Jews.? Please. I hope that other people, and not just Jews, saw these folks as being incredibly intolerant. I am sure they managed to convert oh so many Jews that day to believing in J {sarcarsm there}.

I heard talk through the grapevine of various food in Kennywood that was suppossedly kosher. But no one had any definitive answers on this; so I just stuck with the food that was available in the pavilion. It is the first time I went to Kennywood without getting one of those dipped chocolate ice cream cones.

I am sure Jesus loves me too. I accept him as a nice Jewish boy and first century Chasid Rebbe.
